Focus:
This conference invites submissions of papers related to Chinese as a second/foreign language; topics may include, but are not limited to:
1.
Theoretical Linguistics such as Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis, Contrastive Analysis and Error Analysis;
2.
Language Teaching and Acquisition such as Pedagogy, Interlanguage Studies, Acquisition Process Studies, Curriculum and Instruction Design for Learners of All Ages, Chinese for Specific Purposes, and Chinese Language Teaching for New Immigrants;
3.
Digital Learning and Media such as Application of Emerging Technologies, Teaching Material Design, Online Distance Learning, Corpus Linguistics Application;
4.
Test and Assessment Research such as Classroom Assessment, Test Proposition Design, Chinese Language Proficiency Test Research;
5.
Other Related Topics such as Cross-Cultural Communication, Teacher Education and Development, Management and Development of Chinese Education industry, International propaganda and Promotion of Chinese Education, and Assessment and evaluation of Chinese education policies.

Submission Types:
1.
Individual Paper: An abstract with a title and 3-5 keywords is between 400-800 words in
length.
2.
Panel Submission: A panel should include 3-4 papers with a main theme and subtitle for
each paper. Materials include the main title and its content description, the relatedness of each
individual paper, and a 400-800 word abstract for each individual paper.
3.
Teaching workshop (group members of ATCSL only): The topics are mainly focus on teaching practice (Innovational Instruction, Digital Instruction, Special Designed Instruction, Integrating Crafts in Chinese Education, etc.), and at the same time, group members may as well introduce their teaching center or department. Please submit topics, presenters, content outlines, contact information and contactor of your workshop to the
abstract submission form.
Proposal Submission:
1. Abstract submission: Please log in to your Google account, click the
abstract submission link, fill in the basic information, and upload the abstract file. Please upload the abstract in Microsoft Office Word (*.doc/*.docx) and PDF format respectively. If you have any questions about the submission process, please write to:

2. Full-text submission: If your abstract is accepted, please enter the
ATCSL website to register for presentation, fill in your basic information and upload your full-text paper before October 15, 2023. Please upload your full text paper in both Word(*.doc/*.docx) and PDF format. Please write to:
conference@huayu.org for further consultation.
3. Each individual may submit only one abstract as the first author but can be a co-author of
other abstracts. In principle, no more than three papers should be published as co-authors or corresponding author. If the (first) author of accepted paper is valid ATCSL member, the registration fee is not required. Registration fees are also waived for instructors on teaching
workshops who conducting seminars.
4. Presenters are encouraged to submit their full conference papers to Taiwan Journal of Chinese as a Second Language, a research journal, and TCSL Forum, a practical journal issued by ATCSL. During the review process of the journal, the editors will prioritize the consideration of publication for exceptional papers that have been presented at the ACTSL conference.
